Biography
Born in the city of Minsk, the capitol of Republic of Belarus, Polina De Carlo embarked on her career as a pianist at the age of five, when in she began her studies at the Specialized College of Music attached to the Belarusian State Academy of Music in Minsk. Polina De Carlo has an extremely strong piano and overall music education background, as she has studied at the leading music establishments in the country. Studying primarily in the class of Virginia Volodina, piano was the main area of concentration, although the studies also included rigorous coursework in music theory and education. In 1992, after graduating from the Musical College, Polina De Carlo continued her professional studies at the Belarusian State Academy of Music, where in 1997 she obtained the high degrees of Master of Arts in Piano Performance and Music Education and Qualifications of Chamber Ensemble Artist, Concertmaster/Artistic Accompaniment and Teacher of Special Piano. At the Academy, Polina De Carlo studied with piano professors Violetta Ldokova and Vera Logvinenko.

Polina DeCarlo has much experience as a performer, accompanist for vocal, instrumental and other groups, and as a piano teacher of individuals of varying ages. After graduation, working as a piano teacher at the Specialized State Music School in Minsk, Polina De Carlo taught individual piano lessons, prepared students for performances and competitions. She played for professional chamber ensembles of string and brass instruments, for vocalists from the Belarusian State Opera Theatre, and worked as an accompanist for the Belarusian Olympic Gymnastics Team. In 1998, Polina De Carlo was awarded the First and the highest Qualification Categories in Teaching and Artistic Accompanying.

Since 2000, Polina De Carlo has resided in the United States. She has worked for the Niskayuna School District for the Department of Music Education, Albany Ensemble, the First Unitarian Church and the Schenectady Choral Society, New York. To expand her knowledge of international education and American studies, Polina De Carlo took coursework at Schenectady Community College, Russell-Sage College in Troy and Saint Rose College in Albany, New York in the Master of Music Education Program. 

Helping to discover and support young talented musicians, Polina De Carlo has appeared a number of times as an adjudicator for Louise DeFeo Parillo Piano competition. Working as an accompanist for various instrumental competitions (Lois Lyman Concerto competition, Anthony R. Stefan competition and others), her students achieve the best results with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for years.


As a piano educator, Polina De Carlo successfully trained her private piano students at her piano studio in upstate New York. Some of them had been prepared for and won honorable degrees in piano competitions and festivals. 

Since 2002, Polina De Carlo was the created of the musical organization The ART of PIANO dedicated to the development and enrichment of musical level of education and piano performance in the Capital District area of New York. 
At 2014, The ART of PIANO has been working closely with the French association PianoMaMuse, located in the city of Fontainebleau, France, where Polina De Carlo gives educational piano masterclasses a several times per year.

For the past 15 years concert pianist Polina De Carlo has performed in various cities of European countries including Italy, France, and others. In the United States, among the many places Polina De Carlo has played in the Capital District area are The Albany Institute of History and Art, The State University of New York at Albany, Siena College, Proctors Theatre, Union College, The Glen Sanders Mansion of Schenectady, New York.
